CHRIS LIE, Founder/Line artist
Chris Lie has been working on various comic books, cover art, toys design and concept art since finishing up his master's degree in Sequential Art from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005. Some highlights of his works are GI Joe Sigma6 comic and toys, character design for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 video game, Magic the Gathering Tactics CCG, and the inside cover of Street Fighter IV XBOX360 game. Recently, his graphic novel, Return to Labyrinth volume 3 is at #4 at the New York Times manga bestseller list. Among his influence are works from Dustin Nguyen, Leinil Yu, and Joe Madureira.
ERFIAN ASAFAT, Studio Head/Digital Artist
Inspired by his elder brothers, Erfian has always wanted to become a famous illustrator. After graduated from Visual Communication Design major in 2007, he joined the studio where he is now responsible as the head of the studio. His work is influenced by numerous manga and fantasy artists, such as Takehiko Inoue, Michael Kutsche, and Craig Mullin. His artworks has been featured in Darkstalker Tribute book, Legend of Norrath CCG, Starwars Galaxy CCG, and Warhammer TCG. He plays PSP and listen to Michael Bubble to cheer him up when his heart is broken, which is quite often.
AFIF NUMBO, Penciler
Numbo has worked as comic artist for a national children's tabloid while he was still in art school. His drawing style is influenced by Mike Mignola, Sean (Cheeks) Galloway, Koji Morimoto and his idol Tim Burton. In the past years, he has worked on ALIA comic series, Free Realms TCG and various toys design for Hasbro. He is easily recognized for his own distinctive style that made him loved by his fans.
LASAHIDO, Digital Artist
He started his art journey while he was in college, studying water color. His training in traditional painting had made his transition to digital media effortless. Since then, his sleek and detailed painting style has appeared on various comic pages, covers, TCGs and CCGs. Some of his favorite projects are Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 design, Twilight Zone graphic novel, and cover image for Drafted 100 Days, featuring President Obama. Some of his favorite artists are Craig Mullins, Jae Lee, Jim Lee, Nox, and Masashi Kishimoto. Among his studio mates, he has the most artworks featured in Exotique and Expose series so far.
HENDRY IWANAGA, Digital Artist
Iwanaga started to work in the studio as an intern after he finished his BA in Visual Communication Design in 2008. His smooth and detailed painting style can be seen in Legend of Norrath CCG, Starwars Galaxy CCG, Free Realms TCG, and many more. He loves the works of James Jean, Brom, and Adam Rex. On his spare time, he loves to practice new techniques in drawing or painting, to achieve his goal to have his own graphic novel someday.
CRUT, Digital Artist
Crut also started working as an intern first after he graduated. His young look make people think that he is a high school student. He is so versatile that he can illustrate children book to fantasy art style. Artists that he admired are Bobby Chiu, Jason Chan, Adam Rex, and Jon Foster. His artworks are featured in Starwars Galaxy CCG, Legend of Norrath CCG, Warhammer TCG, various toys packaging, and many more. Being an animal lover, he has numerous pets, from birds, fish, cats, dogs, turtles, lizards, and a crocodile.
RIO SABDA, Digital Artist
Rio was graduated from Bina Nusantara University in 2009, majoring in Graphic Design. He decided to pursue art during his third year in college after looking at James Jean's sketchbook. Then he bought the exact same skecthbook and made it as his diary and drawing medium until now. His inspiration comes from works of James Jean, Ronald Kurniawan, Tomer Hanuka, late contemporary artists and Savavid Dinasty artists. Art, music, world history, and animals are some of his interests. Beside working towards becoming a famous artist, he is also teaching art. You can see his works on Star Wars Galaxy, Legend of Five Rings, Warhammer, and Lord of The Rings TCGs.
JULIA LAUD, Digital Artist
Environment and people around her are the biggest influence in her life. Before entering Caravan Studio at April 2010, she worked as freelancer and produced several personal projects including animation and gaming. She loves to read the "Martine" Series [Gilbert Delahaye - Marcel Marlier] over and over again. To get motivated, she loves browsing internet,playing video games [GTA San Andreas] - [for the 6th time!], watching movies, music, TV commercial, hanging out with friends specially her teammate who somehow manage to do something miraculously silly, her clone [Y2], eating Cadburry Dairy Milk, buying new stationary [its so powerful she can draw the best when the stationary is new], drinking pocari sweat drink [just because its healthy, ...it is, isn't it?], karaoke [for stress release], and the last but not the least, what motivated her the most is DEADLINE!
VICKI PANGESTU, Digital Artist
Vicki is the youngest artist in the studio. She's been working in the studio while she was finishing up her final project. Her illustration style is influenced by manga and japanese video games artworks. RPG games, lots of shonen mangas, and Disney's movies are her reasons to pursue her career in art. Artists whom she admires are James Jean, Jon Foster, Tim Burton, Yoshitaka Amano, Studio Ghibli and her co-workers.
JOKO MULYONO, Digital Artist
Joko is a veteran character designer who's been in the business for almost a decade. His realistic and detailed drawing style had given life to every character he designed. His obsession with board games helps him to better understand the game projects he's working on. His favorite artist are Joe Madureira, Leinil Yu, Travis Charest and many-many more. His next goal is to be an MMA Fighter or street dancer.
RAHMAT HANDOKO, Penciler
In his young of age, Rahmat has worked on numerous comic and illustration projects. His wide range of drawing style, from cartoony to realistic, is derived from the artists he admired, such as Sean Cheeks Galloway, Ryan Oatley, Leinil Yu, and Jim Lee. His precious treasure is his Gundam collections. Highlight of his work is on DC Universe Online illustration cards, when he had to emulate his idol's drawing style, Jim Lee. He is now working on his US comic series debut, an original title from Mark Powers and Caravan Studio.
FANDY SOEGIARTO, Digital Artist
Fandy joined Caravan Studio right after he finished his Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design, where his final project was a beautifully-illustrated storytelling children book called Ben. His semi-realistic cartoony style is influenced by Bobby Chiu and Cuson's works. In his spare time, he designs T-Shirt for his clothing company and collecting Bandai statues. As a Monster Hunter's fanatic, his arrival in Caravan is gladly welcomed by Ijur. Now they're hunting together every night.
